Project Lead (DUV Light Source)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States; occasional flexible workplace arrangements may be available when duties support remote work. Occasional domestic or international travel of up to 10% may be required. The role requires work in a clean room while wearing protective equipment.

Base annual salary: $135,375–$198,550.

What you will do

• Organize, plan, coordinate, and deliver functional components for DUV light-source projects across architecture, requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation, testing, manufacturing, and lifecycle support.
• Maintain deliverable plans covering timing, resources, scope, budgets, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
• Coordinate approximately 10 contributors, co-developers, engineers, scientists, manufacturing personnel, customer support, management, marketing, and external customers.
• Identify bottlenecks, schedule risks, and improvement opportunities; develop mitigation plans and escalate issues when necessary.
• Review and deliver specifications, designs, operational procedures, and training materials.
• Present project progress and represent projects in discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Optics, Controls, or a similar field.
• At least 6 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years with a master’s degree.
• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent activities.
• Experience negotiating and aligning with multiple stakeholders on complex decisions.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, data and document interpretation, customer focus, project scheduling, monitoring, problem-solving, ownership, accountability, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision and to set expectations while holding contributors accountable.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment for the entire duration of a shift while wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.

• Experience leading a small to medium-sized technical team.
