Director, Application Development Engineering

Location: Remote within the United States; listed remote locations include Missouri and other U.S. states. Business travel 2–3 times per quarter is required.

Salary: $146,000–$269,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead multiple teams of Senior Application Development Engineers delivering large-scale, complex application development projects and programs.
• Provide technical guidance, participate in architecture decisions, and implement development best practices.
• Manage a portfolio of new development, enhancement, and maintenance projects across quality, schedule, priorities, and costs.
• Lead proof-of-concept and prototype application environments and establish operational objectives for stable application development.
• Partner with Application, Infrastructure, Security, and SRE teams to maintain operational relationships and follow security and change-management policies.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and motivate staff while setting goals, delegating work, and holding teams accountable for functional, quality, and timeline objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience, including prior management experience; equivalent applicable experience may be considered.
• Experience with application development and application architecture.
• Knowledge of DevOps industry best practices and Agile software development.
• Ability to lead and manage others, build teams, coach employees, and deliver constructive feedback.
• Strong collaboration, communication, conflict-management, negotiation, presentation, and recommendation skills for upper management.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to support project initiatives and goals.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
