Director Technology (Fintech)

Location: Remote, TX; candidates must reside in WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA, or VA. Candidates in Washington within reasonable driving distance of Tukwila must work from headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; other approved remote locations are remote.

Target pay range: $199,300–$243,800 annually; full pay range: $155,200–$288,000 annually, plus performance-based compensation incentives.

What you will do

• Develop technology strategies, roadmaps, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and integrated business and technology plans.
• Lead delivery across financial health, payments, wealth management, small business, lending, and credit card portfolios.
• Modernize legacy platforms and operating models through cloud, APIs, SaaS, automation, modern architecture, and reduced infrastructure complexity.
• Anticipate dependencies and risks across Product, Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance, architecture, engineering, testing, and delivery teams.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop technology professionals while building talent and succession depth.
• Oversee engineering excellence, Agile practices, automation, CI/CD, testing, governance, portfolio financials, vendors, OKRs, and KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of people-leader experience, including experience leading technology teams.
• At least 8 years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in application design.
• Domain experience with ERP, Infrastructure/Operations, and/or financial products such as credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, or deposits is required.
• Previous experience building technology platforms and teams is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced knowledge of technology fundamentals, design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and product management about requirements, software features, and technical designs.
• Delivery experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience with software engineering practices including coding standards, change management, incident management, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations.
