Director, Motorsports

Location: US CA, El Cajon. The role combines office, manufacturing, testing, and motorsports competition environments and requires regular domestic and international travel.

Compensation range: $121,408.56–$205,460.64 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Motorsports vision, strategy, annual operating plan, budgets, forecasts, capital expenditures, and resource allocation.
• Lead business operations, financial performance, human capital, growth initiatives, and strategic partnerships across the Motorsports division.
• Direct professional and grassroots race support, including relationships with race teams, drivers, crew chiefs, OEM partners, sanctioning bodies, and industry stakeholders.
• Oversee trackside engineering, testing, technical services, product validation, and the translation of racing feedback into new products.
• Use motorsports to strengthen brand awareness, customer engagement, revenue growth, content generation, media exposure, and experiential marketing.
• Build a high-performing organization and improve manufacturing quality, efficiency, delivery, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Motorsports Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in motorsports, performance products, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Demonstrated success managing business operations, financial performance, P&L responsibility, organizational growth, budgets, and strategic plans.
• Deep understanding of motorsports ecosystems, race team operations, performance product development, manufacturing, engineering, and product commercialization.
• Experience working directly with professional race teams, athletes, engineers, technical partners, OEMs, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.
• Track record of developing winning motorsports programs and strategic partnerships.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, team-building, communication, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage strategic and operational priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and foster a championship-oriented culture.
• Passion for racing, performance technology, and continuous competitive improvement.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MBA, or related advanced qualification.
• Experience in powersports, off-road, automotive, bicycle, truck, UTV, motocross, desert racing, short-course racing, or adjacent performance markets.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in manufacturing and product development environments.
