Business Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Based in San Francisco or New York City, with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Base salary: $167,000–$228,000 per year for roles based in San Francisco and New York City.

What you will do

• Own the systems and integrations that connect signed deals to correct invoices and accurate revenue reporting across CRM, CPQ, billing, finance systems, and the data warehouse.
• Design reliable data flows between Sales, Deal Desk, Billing Ops, Revenue Accounting, Data Engineering, and related systems.
• Build AI-powered and agent-based workflows that reduce manual work and improve operational signals.
• Automate billing-critical workflows including upgrades, prorated refunds, early renewals, true-ups, and credit deferment with trusted audit trails.
• Improve data integrity and reporting through data models, deduplication, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, ARR, pipeline, dashboards, and forecasting infrastructure.
• Strengthen access controls, change management, releases, documentation, reusable tests, runbooks, code review, and AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in business systems engineering, GTM engineering, revenue operations, or technical sales or marketing operations, with end-to-end ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with a data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery, including designing clean, traceable, and integrity-protected data.
• Experience building integrations with APIs, webhooks, event-driven services, reverse ETL, or automation platforms such as Zapier, Workato, or Tray.io.
• Familiarity with quote-to-cash, billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition, and the ability to work effectively with Finance and Billing Ops.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and experience applying AI-assisted development, agents, or workflow automation to day-to-day work.

Nice to have

• Python or JavaScript scripting, or experience building serverless integrations.
• Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite.
• Hands-on Salesforce development with Apex, triggers, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce automation, using source control, pull requests, code review, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, or a similar CPQ tool, including product and pricing data models, price books, bundles, and approval rules.
• Familiarity with Salesforce administration and customization, including objects, flows, permissions, and integrations.
