Business Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Benson, NC, United States. Regular presence on the production floor is required, including navigating the facility, standing and walking for extended periods, climbing stairs, working in hot, humid, or noisy environments, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

What you will do

• Implement, configure, maintain, and continuously improve enterprise applications, including HRIS, LIMS, business systems, and manufacturing systems.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between internal and third-party applications using APIs, scripts, and integration tools.
• Support internally developed applications and code repositories by troubleshooting issues, modifying code, implementing improvements, and assisting with software releases.
• Contribute to internal AI initiatives and automation projects by supporting application development and integrating new capabilities into business workflows.
• Collaborate with IT, HR, Engineering, Operations, manufacturing, and laboratory teams to investigate issues, understand requirements, and implement technical solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation covering applications, integrations, code changes, system configurations, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IT systems, application support, systems analysis, software integration, or a related technical role.
• Working knowledge of Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar languages, with the ability to write scripts, troubleshoot code, and modify existing applications.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and application integrations.
• Familiarity with Git, code repositories, version control, basic software testing, and deployment processes.
• Understanding of IT systems, authentication, access management, and application troubleshooting.
• Ability to investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
• Ability to work with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
• Ability to complete required fit testing, wear appropriate PPE for assigned tasks, and follow applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, SQL databases, AI-assisted development tools, or manufacturing software environments.
