Software Engineer (Java / AWS GovCloud / DevSecOps)

Location: Mostly remote, but candidates must be local to the DC/MD/VA or Eagan, MN area; US citizenship is required and applicants must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

What you will do

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Java enterprise applications using Spring and Spring Boot.
• Develop and support cloud-native microservices and containerized applications.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications in AWS GovCloud.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing and DevSecOps practices.
• Use AI/LLM technologies to generate and improve automated test scripts.
• Support migrations across AWS ECS, EKS, and OpenShift, including monitoring, incident response, and production troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Java development experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing enterprise applications and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and cloud-hosted application support.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, including ECS, EKS, and OpenShift.
• Experience with CloudWatch, Prometheus, EFK, Kubernetes HPA, and AWS Auto Scaling.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing.
• Experience using AI/LLM tools for automated test-script generation and AI-assisted testing workflows.
• Experience migrating containerized applications between cloud platforms, including container registries, ingress configurations, and networking.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills; BA education and four years of experience are specified.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal government or DoD programs.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native application architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring engineering teams.
