Software Engineer (Hybrid) - 27722

Location: Hybrid in San Antonio, Texas, United States; average of 2 days per week at the San Antonio office. U.S. citizenship is required, and a Secret security clearance will be processed.

Salary: $119,574.00–$170,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement complex Java-based software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes deployments using tools such as Helm and Flux.
• Design enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices architectures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and deliver software under multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Stay current with emerging software development technologies and transition between hands-on execution, mentorship, and team guidance.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; a current U.S. Government security clearance is not required at start, but a Secret-level clearance will be processed.
• 9 years of Software Engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree; or 13 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong experience developing Java software and working with modern Java frameworks and libraries such as Spring and Guava.
• Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments with tools such as Helm and Flux.
• Experience designing enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle, Linux, and configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, and Maven.
• Strong testing, troubleshooting, responsiveness, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with an average of 2 days per week at the San Antonio office; flexibility to adapt to schedule changes is essential.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience designing custom Kubernetes tooling, including operators and custom CRDs.
• Experience with Go or Python.
• Experience writing CI/CD automation, such as GitLab CI pipelines.
• Experience with distributed databases, NoSQL databases, or full-text search engines such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Solr.
• Scripting experience and familiarity with hirify.global’s Big Data Platform.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub Enterprise.
