Software Engineer (Time & Billing)

Location: Anywhere, USA; fully remote except employees living in New York City and New Jersey, who must work from the Manhattan office 6 days per month.

Estimated base salary: $115,000–$120,000 per year, plus possible bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build full-stack features for time capture, billing, invoicing, data models, and user interfaces.
• Help define AI-assisted development practices, including agent workflows, shared prompts, review practices, and guardrails.
• Build and maintain integrations with Accounting Seed and AI time-capture partners.
• Build, test, and ship scheduled Salesforce managed-package releases and patches.
• Shape requirements with Product, test end to end with QA, refine UI details with UX, and contribute to documentation and knowledge bases.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with a typed back-end language such as Java, C#, or TypeScript.
• Front-end experience with modern JavaScript, a component framework such as React, and CSS styling.
• Solid data modeling and SQL skills, including work with large data sets and scalable code design.
• Habit of writing tests.
• Daily, hands-on experience building software with AI coding assistants, including checking generated output and working within development guardrails.
• Clear communication with Engineering and Product, including colleagues in other time zones.

Nice to have

• Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, or SOQL, or Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer certifications.
• Experience at a Salesforce ISV, including managed-package releases and security review.
• Legal billing knowledge, including fee arrangements, rates, write-downs, or LEDES e-billing.
• Experience with Accounting Seed or another finance or ERP product.
• Experience building AI tooling such as custom agents, MCP servers, or shared prompt libraries.
