R&D Solution Architect (Clinical Technology)

Location: Remote within Canada

What you will do

• Define and oversee end-to-end solution architectures aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical designs and guide solutions through the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, engineering, and business stakeholders to evaluate technology options and architectural trade-offs.
• Design and document cloud-based, full-stack, and integrated solutions for security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and data protection compliance.
• Develop proofs of concept, contribute to technology selection and architectural roadmaps, and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Review designs, promote security-by-design, mentor engineering colleagues, and communicate technical decisions across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience architecting full-stack software solutions, supported by a strong software development background.
• Experience designing cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, or comparable platforms, including infrastructure automation, containers, serverless technologies, and cloud service models.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, API integration, data modeling, Domain-Driven Design, and architectural documentation.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, encryption, data protection, and secure software design.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely from Canada and meet applicable Canadian employment eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud migrations, technology roadmaps, or regulated clinical technology environments.
