Solutions Engineering Architect (Cloud)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and govern cloud-native solutions across compute, networking, data, identity, and security domains on a major cloud platform.
• Translate strategic objectives into pragmatic, scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Partner with business stakeholders, security architects, and engineering teams.
• Lead architecture reviews and influence engineering direction.
• Produce formal architecture artifacts and present them to senior leadership.
• Balance time-to-market, cost, security, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Eight or more years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture roles.
• Deep expertise designing cloud-native solutions on at least one major cloud platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
• Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and platform consolidation programs.
• Strong understanding of containerization, serverless, and managed data services.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience producing formal architecture artifacts, presenting to senior leadership, leading architecture reviews, and influencing engineering direction.
• Cloud architecture certification from AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Nice to have

• Multiple cloud architecture certifications.
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Exposure to regulated industries with strict cloud compliance requirements.
• Experience driving FinOps and cost transparency initiatives.
