Solutions Architect Principal (Azure)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) are required.

Salary: $109,623–$126,790 per year.

What you will do

• Develop complete, price-competitive technical solutions based on customer requirements.
• Collaborate with business development, capture, proposal, technical leadership, and delivery teams on solution design, writing, estimating, and staffing.
• Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable, highly available Azure architectures aligned with enterprise standards, business objectives, and government cloud practices.
• Provide technical subject-matter expertise for customer schedule, cost, security, and risk requirements.
• Develop cloud concepts, techniques, standards, solution designs, operational procedures, and governance documentation.
• Guide and mentor technical teams while managing multiple complex initiatives and resolving infrastructure, networking, application, and reliability issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services at large scale with high availability and scalability.
• Extensive experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, SQL Database, Virtual Network, Functions, Microsoft Entra ID, ARM templates, Azure Monitor, and Azure DNS.
• Experience with Azure security services and practices, including DDoS Protection, Azure Firewall, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, WAF, Key Vault, encryption, identity management, and privileged access controls.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, including VNet peering, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Private Link, and hybrid connectivity architectures.
• Experience governing multi-subscription Azure environments with Management Groups, Azure Policy, and Azure Landing Zones, plus cloud financial management, budgeting, resource optimization, and cost governance.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Azure CLI, NodeJS, or related frameworks.
• Expertise with monitoring, logging, and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Sentinel, and third-party platforms.
• Experience with Azure data platforms, database performance optimization, high availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, CI/CD, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Container Instances.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, prioritization, and project leadership skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor engineers, architects, and technical teams and collaborate across infrastructure, security, development, and business organizations.
• 10+ years of professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, or system validation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required; applicants must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and meet government investigation requirements.

Nice to have

• Deep hands-on EDIFECS experience with Electronic Data Interchange X.12 medical claims and related transactions, including 837, 834, 835, 277, 270/271, 278/275, and 999.
• Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate certifications.
