What you will do

• Lead multi-skilled agile teams in designing and delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Agree functional and non-functional designs with customer architects and advise on effort, technical implications, and complexity.
• Lead, manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, including supporting performance and career development.
• Provide technical direction, solve complex delivery problems, and contribute to technology policies and standards.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and advise on new technologies and approaches.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in the defence sector.
• Active Security or DV Clearance.
• Successful delivery of software designs for multi-tiered modern software applications.
• Understanding of whole-solution architecture and the ability to communicate and negotiate designs with customer architects.
• Experience prioritising non-functional concerns and incorporating them into application design.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.
• Ability to communicate technical designs clearly in conversations, documentation, and presentations.
• Ability to make effective decisions in fast-moving delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop junior team members and the wider community.

Nice to have

• Accountability for technology delivery challenges of different sizes, such as projects or multi-team programmes.
• Experience proactively developing business across an account with sales and account managers.
• Experience managing others, setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews.
• Ability to prioritise time across multiple major projects.
• Active participation in technology communities and willingness to share views on technology.
