Senior IT Engineer (IAM)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada; employees must work from their home country and be willing to travel for in-person engagements.

Annual base salary: USD 117,000–164,000 for US-based roles; CAD 103,000–144,000 for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Operate and improve Okta, including tenant configuration, policies, lifecycle management, and complex identity troubleshooting.
• Lead IAM initiatives from concept through rollout, including role-based access control, access reviews, and onboarding and offboarding automation.
• Build safer, more auditable identity and access changes, requests, and employee lifecycle workflows.
• Design application integrations using SAML, OIDC, SCIM, REST APIs, Python, and Bash.
• Partner with IT, Security, and Device Infrastructure teams on rollouts, risk management, identity practices, audits, and compliance.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and provide guidance on identity and access questions.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in a technical IT role, including IT engineering or systems administration.
• Production administration experience with Okta or a comparable identity provider such as Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience applying SAML, OIDC, and SCIM to connect applications.
• Experience building integrations and automation with REST APIs and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience using infrastructure or configuration as code with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and code review.
• Experience applying AI to accelerate or replace team workflows while managing timelines, risks, stakeholder communication, and organizational change.
• Experience managing an identity provider with Terraform, using hirify.global Enterprise and Device Trust, or supporting SOC 2, SOX, or ISO 27001 audits.
