Solutions Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; travel to customer sites and exercises 30–50% of the time.

Salary: $180K–$220K per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Run technical discovery with Sales and Engineering, mapping customer workflows, pain points, networks, hosting, identity, and integration requirements, especially in multi-network environments.
• Lead deployment engineering by validating infrastructure, checking network configuration, verifying system readiness, and writing code to configure new deployments and environments.
• Support accreditation by creating and reviewing security documentation, including STIG checklists and ATO artifacts, with the cybersecurity team.
• Align customer and internal technical stakeholders on requirements, constraints, tradeoffs, and contract deliverables.
• Design integrations involving APIs, data pipelines, Foundry, Maven Smart System, CUOPS tools, and dashboards; deliver technical demonstrations and run pilot deployments.
• Convert deployment experience into reusable implementation patterns and product requirements while working with customer-facing, Platform Engineering, SRE, Cybersecurity, Product, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in solutions engineering, infrastructure or deployment engineering, or forward-deployed engineering, working closely with go-to-market and operational teams.
• Experience in Department of War environments and their security and compliance requirements, including RMF, STIGs, and ICD 503.
• Strong expertise with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and on-premises virtualization with RHEL.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols and security best practices for highly sensitive environments.
• Strong customer presence from action officers to senior leaders, clear and concise writing, calmness under pressure, and focus on forward motion.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog, and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Experience as a military planner or staff officer, or with mission command systems, Foundry, or Maven Smart System.
• Presales experience, including building and delivering demonstrations.
