Control Systems Application Engineer (Electro-Hydraulic Steering)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite at the office five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Travel is up to 10%.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and calibrate electro-hydraulic steering and steer-by-wire systems for aftermarket and factory-fit hirify.global machines.
• Gather kinematic information from machine product groups and account for application-specific characteristics.
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, and internal tools to create baseline steering calibrations and perform on-machine fine tuning.
• Collaborate with hardware, hydraulics, and software teams to address system characteristics and limitations.
• Support safety-system testing and documentation, validation, troubleshooting, and product testing.
• Work with autonomy, remote-control, and advanced-feature teams to apply steering functions.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of analytical thinking, problem solving, requirements analysis, and communicating complex technical concepts.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and their application to machine control.
• Knowledge of technical troubleshooting for hardware, software, applications, or operations.
• Knowledge of product development in manufacturing and product testing methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded control systems for mobile equipment or automotive applications.
• Experience developing software with model-based tools, including the MATLAB/Simulink environment and AUTOSAR toolsets.
• Experience with functional safety and braking-system compliance standards, including ISO 19014, ISO 13849, ISO 26262, and ISO 3450.
• Experience with steering systems, electro-hydraulic systems, or safety-critical control systems.
• Experience with control-system architecture, modular software design, and system integration.
