Electrical Architect, Vehicle Control Systems (Automotive)

Location: Based at the hirify.global corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan; requires 4–5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and events, and occasional travel. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end functional architecture for assigned vehicle control, vehicle state management, application mode, and REEV functions.
• Develop logical and physical electrical/electronic architectures, manage interfaces, and ensure consistency with vehicle-level requirements.
• Define system-level requirements across electrical, software, and mechanical domains and coordinate hardware, applications, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Drive function development, integration, validation, and technical sign-off through prototype builds, design verification, product validation, launch gates, and post-launch support.
• Develop component and system designs, functional and end-of-line specifications, test methods, DFMEA, DV, and PV deliverables for complex mechatronic systems.
• Lead technical alignment in design reviews, resolve cross-domain issues, and escalate material program risks with clear recommendations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 8–12 years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered.
• Extensive experience with automotive systems or mechatronics products, including Body, Infotainment, Drive, or Energy domains.
• In-depth expertise in systems engineering, multi-domain physics, complex system design, and electrical/software integration.
• Working knowledge of software controls, embedded systems, electrical/electronic systems, wiring, and power distribution units.
• Familiarity with CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS, and vehicle network tools such as CANalyzer and CANoe.
• Experience with development, testing, and validation methods for mechatronic systems, including model-based design, MBSE/MBD simulation, MIL, SIL, and HIL.
• Ability to solve complex problems, analyze data, influence cross-functional teams, and drive issues to closure without direct authority.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Codebeamer, Preevision, CAMEO, GitHub, and JFrog.
