SDET - Automation Test Engineer

Location: Hybrid (mostly remote) in Reston, Virginia, United States

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases for a large-scale Claims Reporting project.
• Perform front-end GUI testing and back-end SQL/database validation.
• Execute automated functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing initiatives.
• Analyze requirements, collaborate with development teams, identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed test reports.
• Participate in software design reviews, contribute to QA best practices, mentor junior team members, and support process improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of automation testing experience.
• Strong experience with Selenium and Java.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and continuous testing practices.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, backend testing, and front-end GUI testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software testing best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Healthcare industry experience.
• Experience with AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of TDD, BDD, and modern test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and CI/CD environments.
