Senior Staff Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; hybrid office-first role with three days per week in the office for most roles.

Annual base pay: $139,050–$208,575 USD for candidates based in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, commissions, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define automation architecture, quality strategy, and release-validation practices across connected products and integrated customer workflows.
• Develop approaches for validating AI-enabled features, AI agents, and agentic workflows, including tool use, orchestration, context management, guardrails, observability, evaluation, reliability, and human decision points.
• Set organization-wide standards for test coverage, pass rate, determinism, defect escape, deployment validation, production feedback, and release readiness.
• Own strategies for mobile application testing, cloud-based test platforms, API and contract validation, and observability across distributed systems.
• Investigate difficult automated failures, identify customer and release risk, improve deployment and validation workflows, and alert the appropriate teams.
• Define practical quality gates for AI-enabled and AI-agent features while maintaining security, privacy, software engineering standards, and human oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or business field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience as a developer, automation engineer, or SDET.
• 10+ years of coding experience in Java with deep practical knowledge of OOP and Core Java principles.
• 10+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, or 6+ years as an automation engineer or SDET.
• 8+ years of experience with Selenium for UI test automation using BDD methodology; RESTAssured, Postman, or similar API automation tools; and highly automated continuous deployment environments.
• 8+ years of experience with source control tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, or GitHub; defect tracking systems such as JIRA or ALM; and log troubleshooting tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk.
• 8+ years of experience with applications deployed on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• 4+ years of mobile application testing using Xcode, Appium, BrowserStack, or HeadSpin; API contract testing using Pact in a CI/CD paradigm; and hands-on CI tooling such as Jenkins, Circle CI, or GitLab CI, including authoring test pipelines.
• 8+ years of experience working with offshore teams across geographies.
• At least 1 year of professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Devin, Windsurf, or similar tools.
• At least 1 year applying AI-first practices to software quality engineering, including AI-assisted test generation, test maintenance, failure triage, test-data creation, impact analysis, or release-risk assessment.
• At least 1 year designing, building, testing, or operating AI agents or agentic workflows, including prompt or instruction design, tool calling, context management, orchestration, guardrails, observability, and evaluation.
• Experience defining quality gates for AI-enabled or AI-agent features covering functional correctness, reliability, safety, performance, traceability, and regression coverage.
• Genuine enthusiasm for applying AI to engineering work while maintaining sound engineering practices, security, privacy, and human oversight.
