Lead QA Automation Engineer (Java)

Location: Remote in the US; production deployment support during U.S. hours

Salary: $70–$75 hourly

hirify.global supports a Cloud Platform Engineering team building a backend integration hub for enterprise applications.

What you will do

• Lead QA automation for backend and integration services.
• Build and maintain Java, Cucumber, and Karate automation frameworks for REST, gRPC, and Kafka-based systems.
• Perform performance testing with Gatling and troubleshoot issues using Datadog and Splunk.
• Work with AWS services and ensure strong API and database test coverage.
• Coordinate QA support for production deployments during U.S. hours.
• Mentor offshore QA resources and identify opportunities for further automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of QA experience, including 2–3 years in a lead role.
• Strong Java programming and API automation experience.
• Experience with SQL, Kafka, Gatling, Datadog, and Splunk.
• Familiarity with AWS EC2, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills across global teams.
