Software QA Tester (QA Automation)

Location: Onsite in Washington, DC 20003; 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Interviews are conducted in person. Candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders and must pass a national criminal background check.

Rate: $65.00/hour on 1099 or $60.00/hour on W2.

Development of a DMV application supporting driver licensing, motor vehicle safety, public safety, and digital government services for DC residents, businesses, and visitors.

What you will do

• Review requirements and acceptance criteria and create test strategies, plans, cases, and methodologies.
• Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, usability, and cross-browser tests.
• Write automated test scripts using tools and frameworks such as Selenium and ACCELQ.
• Track defects in Jira, document test results, maintain test artifacts, and support defect resolution.
• Collaborate with project management, developers, business analysts, operations, clients, and end users throughout the development lifecycle.
• Validate database results, APIs, user interfaces, functionality, performance, and compliance with DC Government security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software testing or QA.
• Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools, including Jira.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including Selenium and ACCELQ.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working with version control.
• Ability to perform requirements review, write and automate test cases, execute tests, create defects, and communicate testing issues to the project team.
• Knowledge of databases and schemas, API testing, REST API, integration testing, and wireframes in Figma or XD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• US citizenship or Green Card status and successful completion of a national criminal background check are required.

• Security testing knowledge.
• Additional automation testing experience with tools such as Selenium or ACCELQ.
• Experience with REST API and integration testing.
