Senior Storage Engineer (Enterprise Storage)

Location: Based in the Reston, Virginia, United States office with a hybrid work schedule.

Salary: $164,300–$222,300 annual base salary, with potential discretionary bonus and stock awards for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Implement, administer, optimize, and continuously improve highly available enterprise infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications and services.
• Engineer SAN, NAS, block, file, and object storage platforms, including Fibre Channel environments using Brocade switching.
• Maintain storage architectures across multiple data centers and support VMware vSphere/ESXi and Linux-based infrastructure.
• Implement replication, snapshots, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, forecasting, lifecycle management, automation, documentation, and large-scale storage migrations.
• Collaborate across application, database, network, security, backup, and infrastructure teams; provide technical leadership, mentoring, and production incident support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of systems and operations engineering experience supporting highly available enterprise production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise SAN and NAS technologies, including block and file storage, RAID, thin provisioning, snapshots, clones, replication, storage efficiency, performance optimization, capacity management, multipathing, high availability, and resiliency.
• Experience administering Fibre Channel SAN fabrics, including zoning, WWNs, multipathing, fabric design, redundancy, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell Technologies, Infinidat, VAST Data, and NetApp, or comparable technologies.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and enterprise virtualization environments; experience administering and troubleshooting Linux and AIX.
• Experience designing and supporting backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Experience with object storage and S3-compatible technologies, infrastructure capacity planning, performance analysis, and large-scale storage migrations or technology refreshes.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible, REST APIs, and shell scripting, plus the ability to troubleshoot complex multi-technology production issues.
• Strong communication skills and experience working under strict availability, security, compliance, and change-management requirements.
