Storage Systems Engineer (NetApp/Ceph)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate enterprise storage platforms supporting compute, virtualization, database, and Kubernetes workloads.
• Manage block, file, and object storage across data center, edge, and cloud environments.
• Engineer and optimize NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, and Ceph platforms for performance, data protection, capacity, and cost.
• Integrate storage with VMware and Kubernetes using CSI.
• Automate storage operations with Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
• Troubleshoot issues across storage, network, and host layers while collaborating with technical teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of enterprise storage engineering experience; the position lists 6+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP or Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade and production-scale Ceph.
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage protocols, plus VMware and Kubernetes storage integration.
• Strong scripting, automation, storage performance, capacity planning, cost optimization, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• U.S. work authorization is required: U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates may apply.

Nice to have

• NCDA, NCIE, or Pure Storage certifications.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud storage replication and software-defined storage platforms beyond Ceph.
• Experience with object storage at petabyte scale.
• Exposure to AI/ML workloads with extreme I/O requirements.
