Storage Systems Engineer (NetApp/Ceph)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate enterprise storage platforms supporting compute, virtualization, database, and Kubernetes workloads.
• Manage block, file, and object storage across data center, edge, and cloud environments.
• Engineer and optimize NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, and Ceph environments.
• Integrate storage with VMware and Kubernetes using CSI.
• Automate storage operations with Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
• Troubleshoot storage, network, and host-layer issues while improving performance, data protection, capacity, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least five years of enterprise storage engineering experience; the position lists six or more years of experience.
• Deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP or Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade.
• Production-scale experience with Ceph and strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage protocols.
• Experience integrating storage with VMware and Kubernetes, plus strong scripting and automation skills.
• Strong understanding of storage performance, capacity planning, cost optimization, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Vendor certifications such as NCDA, NCIE, or Pure Storage certifications.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud storage replication and petabyte-scale object storage.
• Familiarity with software-defined storage platforms beyond Ceph.
• Exposure to AI/ML workloads with extreme I/O requirements.
