Full Stack Software Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Remote in the Austin Metro or North Carolina; orientation and the first week must be completed at company offices, with periodic office attendance thereafter.

What you will do

• Translate customer goals into software across automated configurations, model definitions, calculation APIs, ETL pipelines, and user interfaces.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver solutions for research, investments, sales, marketing, and client needs.
• Participate in software architecture, design, development, and code reviews.
• Build backend and frontend solutions, configurations, and automations for testing, infrastructure, and deployments.
• Apply software engineering best practices with quality, automation, security, and continuous feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience in a professional and/or academic setting.
• Experience with Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or equivalent dynamic languages.
• Experience with C#, Java, C/C++, TypeScript, or equivalent static languages.
• Experience in data engineering, web or mobile application development, or systems/security software development.
• Open-minded, curious, resourceful, systematic, transparent, and collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Passion for quality software and a software engineering, automation, and security mindset.

Nice to have

• Ability and interest in learning additional coding languages.
• Fluent, idiomatic English writing ability.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Agile/Scrum experience and financial services industry experience.
• Experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, Airflow, Kafka, AWS, serverless or microservice architecture, TDD, BDD, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, React, Angular, Vue, Node, Ansible, New Relic, or ELK.
