Technical Instructional Design Specialist (RME)

Location: Remote in the United States; Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Salary: $72,250.00–$85,000.00 per year

What you will do

• Design in-person, virtual, and online technical learning experiences for current and future Reliability & Maintenance Engineering technicians.
• Collaborate with technical and operational subject matter experts to identify performance gaps, define learning objectives, and create field-ready training.
• Develop trainer-led courses and corresponding trainer and participant materials using adult learning theory and instructional design best practices.
• Manage multiple content builds, milestones, deadlines, scope, and roadblocks while communicating progress to leaders and project stakeholders.
• Design online content aligned with role-based business needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training content and modalities.
• Support coordination of broader Learning & Development efforts and build relationships with field and support leaders.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience designing and creating technical learning and development content aligned with effective field training and identified performance gaps.
• 1–3 years of broad Learning & Development experience in Reliability & Maintenance Engineering or a related industry.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and design software; Workday and Articulate are especially relevant, with the ability to learn new tools.
• Ability to collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, corporate support roles, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to work independently, with a small team, and with SMEs to achieve technical learning and development outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice to have

• Background or experience with Reliability and Maintenance training or Learning & Development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a similar field.
