Instructional Designer (Behavioral Health)

Location: Remote, US; fully virtual with periodic in-person retreats.

Salary: $72,000–$80,000 annual.

What you will do

• Conduct needs analyses with clinical leadership, define measurable learning objectives, and structure modular asynchronous and synchronous training paths.
• Partner with clinical subject matter experts to translate behavioral health protocols into practical, scenario-based learning for psychiatrists, therapists, and exposure coaches.
• Design interactive e-learning modules, job aids, knowledge checks, video walkthroughs, audio voiceovers, screencasts, and graphic assets.
• Use generative AI tools responsibly for storyboarding, scenario scripts, assessment items, and authoring workflows while maintaining editorial and factual oversight.
• Build assessments, perform clinical and technical quality assurance, and use analytics and learner feedback to improve curriculum assets.
• Manage timelines, provide progress updates, and maintain project tracking tools such as ClickUp.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in instructional design and digital course development. Experience with specialized, technical, or clinical adult audiences is preferred within this requirement.
• Proficiency with Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise.
• Experience with video and audio editing software such as TechSmith Camtasia, Audacity, or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and assessment design, including ADDIE, SAM, Backward Design, Bloom's Taxonomy, and the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.
• Practical experience using generative AI tools for content ideation, drafting, and multimedia production with strict editorial and factual oversight.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, plus clear verbal and written communication across remote, multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• A portfolio of instructional design projects, storyboards, or interactive e-learning modules is required with the application.
