Casualty Claims Adjuster (Insurance)

What you will do

• Handle, investigate, analyse, evaluate, and resolve a portfolio of complex Casualty, Healthcare, and Medmal claims.
• Develop resolution plans, negotiate settlements, analyse coverage, prepare coverage correspondence, and maintain accurate case reserves.
• Prepare Case Summary Reports and Large Claims Reports for matters involving significant reserves or litigation activity.
• Coordinate external experts, legal professionals, adjusters, and Third-Party Administrators.
• Partner with underwriters and actuaries on policy construction, claim trends, data, risk considerations, and business decisions.
• Engage with insureds, brokers, reinsurers, and clients; participate in claim reviews, stewardship meetings, audits, and industry events.

Requirements

• Extensive claims-handling experience within a global insurance company across multiple underwriting platforms, jurisdictions, and markets, or significant relevant legal experience.
• Strong understanding of Casualty, Healthcare, and Medmal lines.
• Experience with London Market claims systems such as ECF and IMR, plus internal systems such as ClaimCenter.
• Knowledge of claims processes, litigation, arbitration, trial procedures, and the wider regulatory environment.
• Advanced analytical, organisational, investigative, communication, presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with data and metrics, collaborate with colleagues, enhance processes, and strengthen team efficiency.
• Commercial acumen with an understanding of business models, underwriting strategies, and distribution channels.
• Professionalism, respect, integrity, a proactive approach, and strong organisational skills.

• ACII qualification or degree-level education.
