Technical Head of Claims (Insurance)

Location: Remote, UK-based; the individual must reside in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

Velonetic represents joint ventures between hirify.global, the International Underwriting Association, and Lloyd’s of London, developing digital platforms and services for insurance and reinsurance premium and claims transactions in the London Market.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee the technical claims function across property, casualty, marine, cyber, and other lines of business.
• Coach and develop technical heads, establish standards for claims handling, reserving, coverage interpretation, consistency, innovation, and quality.
• Define and evolve the technical claims strategy, represent the business in industry forums, regulatory engagements, and client meetings, and contribute to London Market claims standards.
• Collaborate with Claims Product and Delivery teams to create and enhance claims-led services and ensure product features address claims challenges.
• Partner with Claims Operations on processes, training, workflows, best practices, service delivery, and client outcomes.
• Support growth and strategic client relationships while leading audits, peer reviews, quality assurance, regulatory monitoring, and risk oversight.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in London Market claims, ideally in a senior technical or leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to advise across multi-class technical teams and deliver strategic impact.
• In-depth knowledge of claims adjusting, coverage analysis, and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency with London Market systems and regulatory frameworks.
• UK residence and the right to work in the UK.
