Senior HR Business Partner

Location: Centreville, VA, US. Standard business hours with flexibility to support clients across time zones; travel up to 10% for occasional team offsites.

Suggested base salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually, plus incentive opportunity.

What you will do

• Advise senior leaders on business planning, workforce strategy, organization design, restructuring, scaling, and people-related risk.
• Lead workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, calibration, promotion cases, and critical-role coverage.
• Own retention strategy for critical talent through attrition and engagement analysis, stay interviews, and corrective action plans.
• Build client-group dashboards and use people data to identify organizational risks, evaluate programs, and drive executive action.
• Coach executives, managers, and first-time managers on performance, feedback, leveling, and difficult conversations.
• Guide complex employee-relations matters, compensation decisions, internal-equity reviews, market pricing, and senior-hire offers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years as an HR Business Partner, with experience advising senior leaders.
• Experience connecting business strategy to workforce strategy and advising executives with credibility and influence.
• Senior-level experience in organization design, restructuring, scaling, workforce planning, and change leadership.
• Fluency in people analytics, including HRIS reporting, advanced Excel, and interpretation of attrition, engagement, and performance data.
• Knowledge of job leveling, internal equity, market pricing, offer construction, and complex employee-relations risk.
• Strong coaching, executive presence, communication, discretion, and documentation skills.
• Ability to ensure consistent people practices and compliance with applicable employment laws across work locations.

Nice to have

• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
• Experience leading organization design, M&A or integration, or large-scale change.
• Experience supporting distributed or multi-location teams.
