Senior Software Developer (Edifecs)

Salary: $85,389–$116,975 per year

What you will do

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and enhance the Edifecs platform and its XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder, and related modules.
• Build, deploy, and optimize processing rules, routing logic, batch workflows, and EDI integrations.
• Analyze transaction failures, mapping defects, partner rejections, batch failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage logging, JVM tuning, memory, certificates, keystores, releases, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
• Optimize throughput, high availability, failover, monitoring, and AWS infrastructure operations.
• Collaborate with EDI analysts, DevSecOps, cloud, development, operations, security, and business teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise application operations, and 8+ years in software or data engineering with strong AWS experience.
• Strong knowledge of Edifecs architecture and transaction lifecycles, including XEServer orchestrations, XEngine validation and rulesets, TPM configurations, EDI Gateway operations, and SpecBuilder map development.
• Experience managing AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, API-based integrations, and gateway services.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, transaction troubleshooting, throughput optimization, engine and JVM tuning, memory management, high availability, failover, and monitoring dashboards.
• Understanding of AWS EC2 sizing, operating system tuning, storage I/O, file-transfer endpoints, routing, firewall coordination, network debugging, and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests, and collaborative workflows; infrastructure-as-code experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Knowledge of compliance, audit, partner governance, Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and JIRA.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders, translate reporting requirements into technical data models, resolve ambiguous architecture decisions, and document architectures, data dictionaries, and migration runbooks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) are required.

Nice to have

• EDIFECS certification.
• Hands-on experience with X12 healthcare transactions, including 837, 834, 835, 277, 270/271, 278, and 999.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements in cloud data architecture and experience with healthcare payer/PBM systems, clearinghouses, or pharmacy operations.
• AWS certification.
