Fabric Sourcing/Production Manager, Novelty

Location: Remote in China; listed locations include Guantang Qu, Hong Kong; Shanghai, China; and Shenzhen, China.

What you will do

• Own novelty material on-time delivery performance, track supplier-to-facility timelines, and flag delivery risks.
• Manage production schedules, coordinate material availability with demand, and resolve shortages through expedited shipments or inventory reallocation.
• Set and monitor supplier lead-time and delivery-reliability KPIs.
• Partner with suppliers and manufacturers to meet technical specifications and quality expectations, including monitoring consumption, yield loss, and quality deviations.
• Maintain material lot, testing, traceability, and production-flow documentation while aligning lot sizing and specifications.
• Collaborate with planners, production, R&D, Product Development, and Sourcing teams; provide purchasing input and escalate blockers with recommended solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing raw materials in a textile or apparel production environment, preferably involving novelty materials or specialty fabrics.
• Ability to assess novelty material quality and enforce pre-production standards.
• Experience tracking inventory levels and improving on-time delivery performance.
• Ability to use data to monitor material usage, identify yield issues, and improve production flow.
• Experience working with vendors, suppliers, planners, and internal production teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Knowledge of fabric manufacturing operations and raw-material-to-finished-good conversion.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP tools.
• Understanding of sustainable material sourcing and production practices.

• Experience with novelty fabric grading, testing, or lot management.
