Mid Backend Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote or hybrid based on preference; Warsaw, Poland office available. Working hours start between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM CET/CEST.

Rate: 105–125 PLN per hour.

What you will do

• Develop end-to-end backend services and APIs supporting the flow of millions of products.
• Own business outcomes and translate product vision into working software with product owners.
• Design and improve scalable web architectures, distributed services, and message-driven integrations.
• Contribute to service scalability, performance, UX quality, and architecture-level decisions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, data science, and product developers in an agile team.
• Use AI-based tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining software quality.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with Python and Flask, Falcon, or FastAPI.
• Experience developing end-to-end backend services and APIs.
• Knowledge of TDD, clean code, and scalable web architectures.
• Basic knowledge of AWS, including EC2, RDS, and S3.
• Basic DevOps skills with Unix-like systems, Apache/nginx, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and message queues such as RabbitMQ.
• Goal-oriented approach focused on customer needs and business objectives.
• Ability to work proactively with product owners and take ownership of outcomes.
• Good written and spoken English and comfort working in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Interest in transitioning into a full-stack role and experience with React.
• Open-source contributions, with a GitHub profile provided during application.
• JavaScript build tools, the Yarn ecosystem, Redux-related tools, ESLint, and CSS loaders.
• Advanced DevOps and AWS knowledge, including ELB, EBS, and EKS.
• Experience with complex web architectures, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, NoSQL databases, EventStorming, GraphQL, CQRS/DDD, or cybersecurity.
