TL;DR
Lead Integration Engineer (Python): Building scalable integration capabilities and API-first architectures for pharmaceutical R&D systems with an accent on event-driven integrations, cloud-native services, and secure data exchange. Focus on designing distributed systems, standardising API contracts, implementing infrastructure automation, and leading technical governance across Kafka, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Databricks.
Location: Warsaw, Poland; hybrid work with office presence frequency agreed during interviews; candidates must be based in Poland.
Rate: up to 46 EUR/hour on a B2B basis.

What you will do
- Design API-first architectures and build reusable integration capabilities for pharmaceutical R&D systems.
- Standardise API contracts, schemas, governance, event standards, and integration patterns.
- Lead event-driven integrations using Kafka and develop cloud-native services on Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and define CI/CD standards using GitHub Actions.
- Improve observability, monitoring, deployment automation, security, and compliance alignment.
- Participate in architecture reviews, mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and execute the technical modernisation roadmap.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience.
- Based in Poland.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Software Development, or Engineering.
- Python and FastAPI experience.
- Databricks, Databricks Apps, and Lakebase experience.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, Kafka, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Kubernetes, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Platform Services, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, distributed systems design, and SDLC best practices.
- Fluent English.
