Software Engineer III (Mainframe/Cloud)

Location: Bentonville, AR, United States; onsite at 811 Excellence Dr.

Salary: $90,000–$180,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Analyze business, stakeholder, and technical requirements; maintain traceability across requirements, design, and test cases.
• Develop and configure application components meeting functional, security, maintainability, availability, and scalability requirements.
• Create automation scripts and CI/CD processes, implement telemetry, and support testing, defect management, regression testing, and troubleshooting.
• Perform application maintenance, re-engineering, performance monitoring, log analysis, and production support for mainframe and Java-based microservices.
• Monitor project milestones, evaluate change requests, and coordinate with stakeholders to achieve business and customer objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of software engineering or related experience, or a master’s degree or equivalent in one of these fields.
• Experience with application analysis, design, development, and testing using Agile Scrum.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining mainframe applications with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Experience scheduling and monitoring batch jobs with Control-M and Airflow, and debugging COBOL Batch and CICS applications with Expeditor.
• Experience creating and validating mainframe test data with File-AID.
• Experience with Python and shell scripting, Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and BigQuery for automation, data fixes, validation, and reporting.
• Experience managing mainframe releases and configuration with Endevor and LibGit, and cloud or Java releases with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.
• Experience deploying and scaling applications on GCP and Azure; provisioning infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible; and designing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building secured REST APIs and Java microservices, managing Docker and Kubernetes deployments, monitoring with Splunk and Grafana, handling ServiceNow change and incident management, and using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience providing production and on-call support for mainframe and Java-based microservices applications.
