Cloud Developer III (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week in an HPE office in the United States

Salary: USD 136,500–276,500 annual base salary in California; actual offers vary by geographic location, experience, education, training, and skills.

What you will do

• Design and develop moderate to complex cloud-native application modules using microservices architecture.
• Own features end to end, from specification analysis and development through testing, deployment, observability, and ongoing support.
• Deploy cloud-based systems and application code through CI/CD pipelines, automating application management, scaling, and releases.
• Debug integration and distributed-system issues, tune performance, and assess scalability and operational impacts.
• Collaborate with project managers, development partners, and distributed engineering teams to deliver cloud services.
• Contribute technical guidance, innovation, and integration of new technologies into projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline; a master’s degree is desirable.
• Typically 4–6 years of experience building cloud-native services and a strong microservices mindset.
• Production experience with cloud-native services, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Production-grade programming experience in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and automated unit, integration, and contract testing.
• Experience with secure coding, secrets management, distributed-system debugging, and performance tuning; networking security, Layer 4–7 firewalls, application visibility, and application security experience is strongly preferred.
