Software Development Engineer, Admin Central (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, California, United States; Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners, depending on the role.

Salary: $148,000–$222,000 USD annual base pay for the primary location; additional U.S. locations range from $123,900–$222,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready microservices and streaming pipelines for analytics and agentic engines.
• Develop scalable REST and gRPC APIs integrating MCP tools, LLM workflows, and observability frameworks.
• Design multi-agent architectures and extend agentic workflows with LangChain and LangSmith.
• Build governed deployment capabilities for configuration, data migration, and validation with human-in-the-loop interactions.
• Write unit, integration, and distributed load tests and maintain CI/CD automation.
• Monitor, triage, and resolve production issues while documenting APIs, component designs, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in at least two of Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservice architectures, or event-driven pipelines, including technologies such as Kafka, Spark, ClickHouse, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, or other microservice communication protocols.
• Familiarity with high-throughput data processing and cloud storage architectures such as Kafka, Spark, AWS S3, or Iceberg.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD tools including Git, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Strong commitment to test-driven development, integration testing, and telemetry-based monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with an adaptable approach to complex engineering challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Exposure to LLM application frameworks such as LangChain and LangSmith or OpenTelemetry tracing models.
