Area Manager I (Warehouse Operations)

Location: DFW2 - Dallas, TX, United States; onsite distribution center role with occasional non-standard hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends, as business requires.

What you will do

• Lead and develop warehouse associates and operations leads to deliver daily goals.
• Execute inventory accuracy processes, investigate discrepancies and variances, and maintain inventory shrink.
• Use the Order Management System, workload planning tools, warehouse management systems, and material handling equipment to complete scheduled workloads and fulfill orders to standards.
• Partner with HR, Safety, Customer Service, and operations leaders to resolve operational and personnel issues.
• Implement process improvements and workload-efficiency mechanisms.
• Perform across multiple functions and maintain required quality standards.

Requirements

• Two to four years of experience with warehouse management systems or inventory systems in a high-volume facility.
• Previous leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
• Basic clerical, data-entry, and mathematical calculation skills.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to work effectively with all management levels and support teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize details accurately, complete tasks, and perform constructively under stress, high workloads, and deadlines.
• Ability to use relevant material-handling equipment, including forklifts, and transport up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a distribution-center environment with varying heights, temperatures, and moderate, consistent noise levels.
• Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or overtime as business requires.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Experience with process improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
