Senior Auto & General Liability Claims Adjuster

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States; hybrid onsite 2 days a week. Ability to travel daily between locations and overnight up to 10% is required.

What you will do

• Investigate and analyze medium-complexity and medium-severity commercial auto and general liability claims, including litigated files.
• Identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, and review claim documents, legal pleadings, and commercial insurance policies.
• Develop action plans, evaluate damages, negotiate with involved parties, and settle claims according to guidelines.
• Establish and maintain reserves that accurately reflect financial exposure.
• Address contractual indemnifications and additional insured coverage issues with internal partners.
• Collaborate with agents, policyholders, internal stakeholders, counsel, and external resources while monitoring resolution costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of experience handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims of medium complexity or severity.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external customers.
• Ability to travel daily between locations and overnight up to 10%.

Nice to have

• AIC or SCLA certification.
• Experience handling claims involving risk transfer, subcontractors, and general contractors.
