Auto Bodily Injury Claims Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; Branchville, New Jersey, or Short Hills, New Jersey listed as Selective locations.

Salary: USD $83,000–$108,000 per year.

What you will do

• Handle non-litigated and lower-level litigated auto and general liability claims, including non-litigated UM/UIM claims without major coverage issues.
• Investigate coverage and liability through contact with claimants, attorneys, insureds, witnesses, agents, and other relevant parties, and issue applicable coverage letters.
• Evaluate losses, contributory or comparative negligence, and claim value using medical reports, depositions, expert reports, attorney evaluations, and other discovery information.
• Assign medical experts and counsel, arrange medical examinations, and interact with underwriters and agents on claim resolution.
• Negotiate and resolve claims within delegated authority, approve investigation and handling expenses, issue payments or denials, secure releases, and explore contribution.
• Maintain accurate claim files and systems, prepare for claims reviews and settlement conferences, and process claims in compliance with company policies and legal and regulatory requirements.

• Moderate proficiency with standard business-related software.
• College degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of claim handling experience preferred.
• Industry training or professional designations preferred.
