Lead Software Engineer

Location: Boston/Needham, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one day working remotely.

Base salary: USD 90,000–180,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead developers and QA engineers delivering products for Enterprise Data Services; the team includes approximately 7–10 developers with no current people-management responsibility.
• Develop a multi-asset performance attribution platform and enhance existing investment performance measurement, attribution, and GIPS composite applications.
• Split time between software development and architecture/technical leadership, including architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Review requirements, specifications, use cases, and test plans with business stakeholders, project managers, analysts, and engineering teams.
• Design, prototype, implement, and optimize software components while maintaining code-quality, continuous integration, code-review, and release-documentation standards.
• Coordinate production releases across middleware, database, and architecture teams and author technical, architecture, and support documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development and design experience, including 7+ years developing enterprise applications and services with Java and related technologies.
• Experience with SQL and relational and non-relational database technologies.
• Hands-on experience with multithreaded programming.
• Experience working in an agile DevOps environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and deliver projects on time while overcoming obstacles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple business and technology stakeholders.
