Lead Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Bethlehem, United States; hybrid with in-office work 3 days per week. Other listed locations: New York and Holmdel.

Salary: $99,150–$162,885 base pay, with potential eligibility for additional incentive compensation.

hirify.global is an insurance company developing Group Benefits products, including the Absence Comprehensive Experience platform.

What you will do

• Develop complex solutions for the ACE Group Benefits Absence Platform in an Agile, cross-functional environment.
• Design and implement APIs and microservices, including technical designs spanning multiple technology disciplines.
• Lead technical coordination across engineering, testing, release management, production support, SaaS providers, and distributed teams.
• Support deployments, operational readiness, escalated defects, monitoring, alerting, and application-log analysis using tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, ArgoCD, and AppDynamics.
• Lead technical aspects of SDLC governance, maintain deployment cadence, and coordinate enterprise changes across engineering teams.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical consultancy on the FINEOS SaaS platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with service-oriented and cloud-native software architecture, modern API and microservice development, build tools, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Hibernate, and Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Docker, EKS, SNS/SQS, and SDKs.
• Experience with secure programming practices, software delivery, and cloud security principles.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, logging and monitoring tools including AppDynamics, ArgoCD, CloudWatch, Splunk, and Zenoss.
• Experience with Test Driven Development and maintaining 90–100% code coverage for delivered products.
• Ability to lead projects spanning multiple teams, deliver on time in a fast-paced Agile environment, and support large-scale business-critical systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, collaboration, code-review, documentation, and communication skills; comfort working in a rapidly changing environment.
• Experience with AI-assisted product development using GitHub Copilot or Claude.

Nice to have

• Python, ReactJS, and Apache Camel experience.
• FINEOS Group Insurance product knowledge.
