Portfolio Manager I (Technology)

Location: Based in Chicago, Illinois; remote work may be available in select geographic locations subject to approval, with occasional in-office participation required based on business needs. Remote work requires a quiet, secure, and confidential home workspace.

Salary: $75,000–$125,000 base salary annually, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage a strategic portfolio covering cloud transformation, hosting, data center modernization, enterprise migrations, production readiness, resiliency, and business continuity.
• Establish portfolio governance, reporting, execution frameworks, and strategic initiative approval processes.
• Drive delivery across complex technology programs, coordinating technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, business, project, and program teams.
• Manage portfolio budgets, financial planning, forecasting, resources, vendor relationships, milestones, metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Identify and mitigate portfolio-level risks, dependencies, and issues while ensuring security, regulatory, operational resilience, and business continuity requirements.
• Support enterprise data, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and AI governance through responsible controls and risk management practices.

Requirements

• University or college degree, typically a bachelor's degree, or a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience in portfolio, program, or project management.
• Experience leading large-scale enterprise technology initiatives and portfolios involving cloud platforms, infrastructure modernization, data centers, migrations, or production services.
• Knowledge of portfolio governance, risk management, financial management, executive reporting, strategic planning, and project management.
• Experience driving technology transformation from strategy through execution and operationalization, including financial or large-scale enterprise transformation.
• Experience with enterprise resilience, operational risk, cybersecurity, business continuity, data strategy, large-scale data platforms, analytics, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI practices, and emerging AI risk frameworks.
• Experience in highly regulated industries, including financial services, and success influencing senior executive stakeholders in complex organizations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and influencing skills; ability to balance innovation, governance, risk, and delivery in a fast-paced environment.
