VP, Portfolio and Program Delivery (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid work model with required in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; remote placement is not considered. Local hours in Pacific Time are required, with flexibility across time zones when necessary. Travel to company offices or other locations may be required. Relocation is offered based on actual job level.

Base salary: $240,000–$270,000 annually, plus potential long-term awards and annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end Product and Engineering portfolio, aligning investment, capacity, priorities, timelines, and delivery commitments.
• Establish consistent approaches to planning, project sizing, cost estimation, scope management, risk management, reporting, and escalation.
• Partner with Business, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Risk Management teams to coordinate strategic initiatives and manage dependencies and changes.
• Support and run Program Increment planning by providing capacity, dependency, and risk insights.
• Personally lead selected high-priority, cross-functional projects requiring coordination across multiple teams.
• Own the Internally Developed Software control framework and partner with Finance on software capitalization processes.
• Build, coach, and develop Portfolio Delivery Leads and Technical Program Managers while creating consistent delivery tools, templates, and operating rhythms.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience in program, portfolio, or delivery management, including leading large-scale, multi-team software delivery.
• 8+ years of experience managing and developing managers and large teams of program or project managers.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on fluency with Scaled Agile Framework and Program Increment planning, including planning at scale.
• Experience in a regulated industry, ideally financial services, with an understanding of software development lifecycle processes, controls, audit, and compliance expectations.
• Track record of delivering Product and Engineering-led initiatives and products.
• Strong command of project sizing, cost estimation, scope management, risk management, and executive-level reporting.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and Engineering teams.
• Ability to identify opportunities for AI to improve planning, prioritization, delivery, decision-making, efficiency, and visibility while maintaining sound judgment and accountability.
