Associate Director, Government Affairs - LatAm (Genomics)

Location: São Paulo, Brazil (Hybrid); must reside in the São Paulo area and commute to corporate offices, with 2–3 in-office days per week and additional on-site presence as needed. Travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.

What you will do

• Develop and execute government affairs and external engagement strategies across Latin America, focusing on Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.
• Build relationships with government ministries, health authorities, policymakers, regulatory institutions, trade associations, and policy forums.
• Shape national and country-specific policy environments to support adoption of innovative genomic testing and precision medicine.
• Monitor political, legislative, regulatory, and healthcare policy developments and provide strategic guidance to internal teams.
• Communicate the clinical and societal value of genomics to policymakers and public-sector stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Communications, and Regulatory teams while ensuring compliance with ethics and corporate governance standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or university degree in International Relations, Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience, including 7+ years of management experience.
• Extensive, progressively responsible experience in government affairs, public policy, or external affairs within the life sciences, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical sector.
• In-depth knowledge of political and healthcare systems in Latin America, particularly Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.
• Proven ability to influence public policy through strategic government engagement and evidence-based advocacy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including cross-functional and international collaboration.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese and professional proficiency in Spanish.
• Ability to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.
