DevOps Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States.

Salary: $92,905.44–$218,324.12 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
• Develop containerized deployment workflows with Docker and Kubernetes and automate builds, testing, and releases.
• Create automation scripts and implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
• Integrate DevSecOps controls, monitoring, logging, and observability to improve security, reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Support AI/ML workflows, MLOps platforms, and machine learning infrastructure.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, troubleshoot complex issues, and document infrastructure and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, plus at least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience developing and supporting custom in-house applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Expertise in AI, generative AI, and orchestration across multiple models and modalities, including reasoning, perception, memory, and tool execution.
• Experience implementing temporal, spatial, geographic, quantitative, and computer vision AI capabilities; NER, contextual entity extraction and resolution, multi-step retrieval, and traceable structured outputs.
• Experience designing and optimizing automated ETL pipelines for complex parsing, scheduling, schema-aligned ingestion, and normalization of structured and unstructured data.
• Experience integrating vector, graph, and relational databases, including ABAC, data provenance, and end-to-end lineage tracking.
• Experience supporting air-gapped, hybrid, and on-premises environments with locally hosted GPU servers, hyperconverged nodes, and multitenant CDS.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes, plus experience developing interfaces, backend services, and middleware using technologies such as TypeScript, React, Python, FastAPI, LanceDB, Lance Graph, PostgreSQL, and Temporal.io.
• Experience integrating reasoning components, retrieval systems, databases, and AI/GenAI services into enterprise applications.

Nice to have

• DevSecOps and secure software delivery experience.
• Experience with machine learning workflows, MLOps platforms, or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.
• Relevant AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Security, or DevOps certifications.
