Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring & Observability Engineer (OCI)

Location: Remote; U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain the required public trust suitability.

Salary: $140,000–$185,000 annually.

What you will do

• Build and administer OCI monitoring and observability across Monitoring, MQL, Alarms, Notifications, Events, Logging, Logging Analytics, and the Observability Management Platform.
• Deploy APM tracing, synthetic journeys, and latency monitoring across containerized and cloud-native applications.
• Design redundant monitoring planes across Ashburn and Phoenix, and track disaster recovery replication across Data Guard, Object Storage, and Block Volume replicas.
• Monitor Exadata, Base DB Systems, and Autonomous Databases for SQL bottlenecks, resource saturation, and capacity growth.
• Maintain security posture, vulnerability, host, network, API, data protection, and key-governance monitoring across OCI services.
• Establish SLO-based alerting, provide Tier-3 incident response and RCA, maintain runbooks, support FedRAMP High and NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 reporting, and integrate OCI telemetry with Splunk and Dynatrace.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain the required public trust suitability.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including 4+ years in cloud monitoring or SRE and 2+ years focused on OCI monitoring and observability.
• Hands-on experience with OCI Monitoring, MQL, Alarms, Notifications, Logging, Service Connector Hub, and Events.
• Python with the OCI SDK, Terraform, or OCI Resource Manager.
• Oracle Database or Exadata monitoring experience.
• Networking fundamentals including VCN, DRG, VPN, and FastConnect.
• Experience with OC2, OC3, or another government realm.
• Experience with OCI Operations Insights, Stack Monitoring, Dynatrace, or Splunk integration.
• OCI Associate certification.
