Branch Claims Representative (Insurance)

Location: Columbia, MO, United States; initial training is in person, with potential work-from-home flexibility defined by leadership.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level property and casualty insurance claims under close supervision.
• Study policies, endorsements, forms, and claim procedures to build product and claims-handling knowledge.
• Develop claim negotiation, settlement, estimating, and loss-adjustment skills using designated computer programs.
• Serve agents, insureds, claimants, legal counsel, and third parties through clear and timely communication.
• Complete the company’s claims training program and obtain and maintain adjuster licenses when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or directly equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• Ability to organize data, multitask, make independent decisions, and resolve complex issues.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and correspondence.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security and work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems involving geometry, area, volume, sums, unit costs, and personal or business finance documents.
• Ability to drive, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a driving record consistent with the company’s underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs.
• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
