Outside Property Associate Claim Representative

Location: Remote in the United States; based in or near Lake Oswego, Oregon, with work at residential and commercial locations and the nearest hirify.global office. Extensive travel, including overnight stays, may be required.

Salary: $53,800–$88,800 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Complete a 9–12-month training program covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures through virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training.
• Review, investigate, document, and evaluate first-party property claims under direct supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers; analyze relevant leases, contracts, bylaws, and other documents.
• Determine coverage for building damage and establish damage scopes for written or computer-assisted estimates.
• Communicate professionally with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders while maintaining accurate claim records.
• Inspect dwellings and structures, including roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas; carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38–49 pounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, judgment, decision-making, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Basic conflict resolution skills and willingness to learn techniques for productive discussions and negotiations.
• Openness to continuous learning, including AI and digital transformation, and ability to adapt to new technologies and system upgrades.

Hiring process
