Consulting Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Strategics - NYC (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Remote - New York; New York, New York or Newark, New Jersey.

Salary: $171,500–$257,600 USD annual base salary, with possible incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Own technical account plans and act as the primary technical counterpart for infrastructure architects, platform leaders, and technology executives at major financial institutions.
• Lead complex pursuits from discovery through decision, including solution design, sizing, RFIs/RFPs, proofs of concept, lab evaluations, and competitive bake-offs.
• Design container, storage, and data layers for AI at scale, including GPU cluster storage, inference and cache offload, retrieval and analytics pipelines, and governed data in place.
• Lead initiatives involving Kubernetes, OpenShift, virtualization transitions, NVMe over TCP, Ethernet block, object storage, and cyber resilience.
• Coordinate product specialists, professional services, partners, and technical workstreams while supporting account planning, forecasting, and pipeline hygiene.
• Represent strategic financial-institution requirements to product management and provide evidence-based input on roadmap priorities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years in customer-facing presales, solutions architecture, or field engineering.
• Direct experience with large financial services institutions is strongly expected.
• Hands-on expertise in enterprise block, file, and object storage, data protection, replication, and production-scale behavior.
• Working fluency across virtualization, Kubernetes, container platforms, especially OpenShift, storage networking including Ethernet, NVMe over TCP, RDMA, and Fibre Channel, plus at least one major public cloud.
• Strong executive communication skills and a track record of winning technical evaluations against established storage and infrastructure vendors.
• Experience building displacement cases that withstand customer scrutiny.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with analytics and lakehouse platforms, data governance, data discovery, cost, compliance, and AI-readiness implications of data placement.
• Exposure to GPU infrastructure and AI workloads, including NVIDIA DGX, SuperPOD, GPUDirect Storage, vLLM, NVIDIA Dynamo, llm-d, and storage patterns for training, inference, and retrieval.
• Relevant Kubernetes, Red Hat, cloud, NVIDIA, or storage-platform certifications.
• Experience with hirify.global FlashArray, FlashBlade, or Portworx from the vendor or customer side.
