Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (Storage)

Location: Remote in Belgium; applicants must be located in Belgium and have the right to work there. Travel up to 30% across the region is required for customer meetings, Proof of Concept setups, and partner events.

Annual pay range: €150,000–€200,000 OTE, plus benefits and pre-IPO stock options.

What you will do

• Partner with sales, local resources, and OEM storage specialists to design unstructured data solutions and advance enterprise opportunities across Belgium.
• Lead technical deep-dives, whiteboarding sessions, and solution designs covering cross-border data replication, hybrid-cloud bursting, and multi-protocol file access.
• Run Proof of Concept deployments on-premises and in public clouds to demonstrate performance, reliability, and flexibility.
• Create technical proposals and RFP responses covering architecture, data protection, and performance at scale.
• Drive whitespace reviews, account mapping, business planning, forecast accuracy, and customer technical direction reviews.
• Track regional trends such as AI training clusters and EU sovereign cloud mandates, contributing to case studies and technical content.

Requirements

• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• At least 5 years of experience in presales systems engineering, including at least 3 years focused on unstructured data, file, and object storage.
• Strong command of Windows, Linux, and Unix/BSD operating systems and NFS, SMB, and S3 file/object protocols.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Working knowledge of the file and object storage market and its players, including NetApp, Dell PowerScale/Isilon, Vast Data, EverPure, Ceph, Lustre, Scality, and Weka.
• A consultative, value-based sales approach and a track record of taking enterprise deals from first pitch to technical champion alignment.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across the region.

Nice to have

• Cloud architect certifications.
• Familiarity with the regional landscape, including green or hyperscale data centers, high-density cooling, FLAP-D hubs, AMS-IX, and other internet exchanges.
• Experience delivering scale-out storage for Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, Energy, or HPC/AI.
• Awareness of EU data privacy and sovereign cloud requirements.
